Nachdem die Himalaya 400 bereits 24.000 KM treue Dienste geleistet hat und fallweise ihre 20 PS massivest einsetzen musste, um meiner Sturheit zu entsprechen und um unsere Ziele zu erreichen, wurden neue Möglichkeiten durchgedacht. Kurz stand auch im Raum auf eine Yamaha umzusteigen, aber mal ehrlich: Wer will durch Indien mit einer Yamaha fahren, somit wieder zurück zu den Wurzeln und eben Stielecht – eine Royal. Da kam nun das neue Produkt mit 40 PS, 6 Gängen, 17 Liter Tankvolumen, wassergekühlt (auch wenn das Gerücht umging es handelt sich um eine Ölkühlung ) und 450 ccm natürlich ins Gedankenzentrum. Dank Abishek und seinem Netzwerk gelang es mir über ROYAL ENFIELD SHOWROOM – BRITE AUTOWHEELS PRIVATE LIMITED IN KAILASH COLONY, Greater Kailash in Delhi zu einer solchen Schönheit zu gelangen, um mit ihr in Indien ein neues Kapitel zu beginnen….

After the Himalaya 400 has already rendered 24,000 KM of faithful service and occasionally had to exert its 20 HP massively to correspond to my stubbornness and to achieve our goals, new possibilities were considered. Thanks to Abishek and his network, I was able to acquire such a beauty through ROYAL ENFIELD SHOWROOM – BRITE AUTOWHEELS PRIVATE LIMITED IN KAILASH COLONY, Greater Kailash in Delhi, to start a new chapter in India with her.

Aber da es nun mal eine unabdingbare Tatsache ist, dass Motorradfahren aus Folgender Formel besteht: „Komme was wolle“ mal „Wird sich schon ausgehen“ dividiert durch „Tanken sollten wir auch mal“ hoch „ES GIBT SCHUTZENGEL“ war eine Taufe bzw Motorradweihe unbedingt notwendig, daher………..

There she stood, ready for new ways, routes, roads, alleys, paths, directions… whatever and wherever. ….fuhren wir zum SANKAT MOCHAN HANUMAN MANDIR TEMPLE, in Aerocity, um dort eine Motorradweihe zu erleben. Denn sind wir mal ehrlich, Schuztengel braucht es immer, und noch mehr hier in Indien. Somit kann göttliche Unterstützung niemals schaden. Gerade dieser Tempel gefällt mir sehr gut, er hat eine nette, natürliche Ausstrahlung. Natürlich mussten Jana, Abishek und Chunky dabei sein, nachdem alle anwesend waren…..

So, divine support can never hurt. I particularly like this temple; it has a nice, natural charisma. Of course, Jana, Abishek, and Chunky had to be there, once everyone was present…

Somit waren nun alle Voraussetzungen erfüllt, das Vorwort geschrieben, die Tinte der Widmung getrocknet. Es war Zeit sich an die ersten Kilometer zu machen, um das erste Service zu absolvieren und somit die Nabelschnur zu durchtrennen….

Now all the prerequisites were fulfilled, the preface written, the ink of the dedication dried. It was time to make the first kilometers, to complete the first service and thus cut the umbilical cord…

…Als erstes Ziel war – nach Chunky´s Empfehlung SALISAR angesagt, er selbst wollte mit seiner Familie dorthin fahren und einfach einen netten Tag verbringen und verschiedene Tempel besuchen. Ich wollte dorthin fahren und gute Kilometer haben. Also schlug Chungy vor, dass wir gemeinsam fahren sollten, ich mit dem Bike und er mit der Familie mit dem Auto. Warum nicht, war eine super Idee, mal was neues……

The first destination was – as per Chunky’s recommendation – SALISAR. He wanted to go there with his family and spend a nice day visiting various temples. I wanted to go there and cover some good miles. So, Chunky suggested that we should go together, me on the bike and him with the family in the car. Why not? It was a great idea, something new for a change….

Auch wenn es etwas neues war, manche Sachen werden sich nie ändern, die Tour begann mit warten…

irgendwann war es dann soweit, irgendwann war es in Chunky s Universum auch Zeit zum Eintreffen….
And at sometimes it was even time for Chunky to arrive…..

Nach einem letzten Selfie, konnte die Fahrt losgehen und die Landstraßen gehörten uns……

der nächste Stopp war dann dann Rishu geschuldet. Irgendwie hatten wir dann auch noch einen brutalen emotionalen Stress zu überstehen, da wir alle wissen, was passiert, wenn Chunky Zucker bekommt. Wir hatten Glück, es blieb bei der puren Angst…

The next stop was then due to Rishu. Somehow, we also had to endure a brutal emotional stress because we all know what happens when Chunky gets sugar. We were lucky, it remained pure fear.

Die weitere Fahrt erfolgte ohne irgendwelche Zwischenfälle, so erreichten wir das Hotel. Wieder einmal fand Chunky ein sauberes nettes Hotel, ausgestattet mit einem Pool und einem netten Restaurant.

Nachdem wir am Vorabend – richtig NACH Sonnenuntergang – eingetroffen waren, fand ich einen sicheren Parkplatz…

Da die Enfield über einen digitalen Tacho verfügt – mit C Stecker – der ständig versorgt werden will, mussten wir noch eine kleine Erweiterung veranlassen. Es musste ein passendes Ladekabel – C zu C - erstanden werden. Das entsprechende Kabel konnte im Geschäft, unmittelbar neben dem Hotel gekauft werden. Somit war für die Heimreise alles klar.

Since the Enfield has a digital speedometer – with a C connector – which requires constant power supply, we had to arrange for a small extension. A suitable charging cable – C to C – had to be purchased. The corresponding cable was available for purchase at the store, right next to the hotel. Thus, everything was clear for the journey home.

Natürlich war es für Chunky selbstverständlich, dass er dieses Kabel kaufen fuhr. Dazu benützte er landesübliche Stiefel samt der entsprechenden Schutzausrüstung. Offenbar verlässt sich da einer zu sehr auf HANUMANS Segen.

Of course, it was natural for Chunky to go and buy this cable. For this purpose, he used local boots along with the appropriate protective equipment. Apparently, it seems that someone relies too much on HANUMAN’s blessings. …….

Ein paar letzte Eindrücke, dann ging es los, zurück nach Delhi

Some last impressions, and back to Delhi…

Über die Straßen Rajasthans gab es kein Halten mehr. Kein Grund zum Stoppen, der Tank war groß genug, um die gesamte Strecke unter einmal zu absolvieren. Wie gesagt, kein Halten, kein Stoppen mehr…

..There was no stopping on the roads of Rajasthan. No reason to stop, the tank was large enough to cover the entire distance in one go. As I said, no stopping, no stopping anymore…

ok, eine Ausnahme war da doch noch….

Dann ging es über Dwarka zurück nach Delhi. Es ist immer wieder faszinierend über Feldwege und entlang eines Kanales, auf einer zweispurigen Straße, in eine Stadt wie Delhi zu kommen

In Delhi eingetroffen, ging es dann auch mal zu einer Tankstelle. Es wurde für die Fahrt von Salisar nach Delhi, ca 350 KM, 14 Liter verbraucht. Der neue Tank erweitert die Reichweite deutlich, auch konnte die Reisegeschwindigkeit höher gehalten werden. Alles in allen war es ein netter Trip mit einem absoluten überraschenden, fast schon erschreckenden Ende. Wie schon eingangs erwähnt, ein neues Kapitel beginnt. ICH BIN BEI TAGESLICHT ANGEKOMMEN. (Chunky, kannst du dir das vorstellen?)  Mein erster Trip absolut alleine in Indien und solche Sachen passieren…..

In Delhi, after arrival, I also went to a gas station. It took 14 liters for the journey from Salisar to Delhi, about 350 KM. The new tank significantly extended the range, and the travel speed could be maintained higher. All in all, it was a nice trip with an absolutely surprising, almost frightening end. As mentioned at the beginning, a new chapter begins. I HAVE ARRIVED IN DAYLIGHT. (Chunky, can you imagine that?) My first trip absolutely alone in India, and such things happen…
